Mission accomplished at the Easter Sale
The Gainsborough Lodge sales team came away from the 2018 Inglis Australian Easter Sale with its mission accomplished.
Consignor of a supremely-bred daughter of Not a Single Doubt catalogued as Lot 224 for arguably the most exceptional Easter Yearling Sale of all-time, Gainsborough Lodge realised $175,000 for its one and only offering during a three-day selling frenzy which industry experts will be reviewing for weeks to come.
The buyer of the filly proved to be Kennewell Racing P/L based in South Australia. One of the most progressive stables in Australia, the operation is now headed by Lloyd Kennewell after first being established by his father Gary. Current star of the stable is 2017 WATC Winterbottom Stakes winner Viddora, the heralded Group 1 winning daughter of I Am Invincible.
In fact, the very close relationship the Not a Single Doubt filly has to I Am Invincible — she’s from a half-sister — made her a prime target for Kennewell, whose stable also includes the $200,000 Magic Millions 2YO Clockwise Classic winner La Pomme De Pin. Kennewell has also bought at least another three members of the breed this yearling sale series.
The $175,000 sale price of the Not a Single Doubt is the largest sum received for a Gainsborough Lodge consigned yearling since re-branding of the stud took place in late 2015. The filly is also the seventh six-figure yearling we’ve sold in that same period.
